Current prices for first printings of Mariah Mundi in fine condition are as follows. If you act quickly, copies can still be had on Amazon for £9.99. The exclusive Limited Edition Doodled copies can be had from around £200. The Limited Edition Stamped copies are around £150. It's totally unheard of in the industry for G.P. Taylor to sign for collectors, so these copies are very rare. (He told me about an incident when a fan persuaded him to sign a book to Philip with a line of text saying "My Amber Spy Glass." This fan was actually a bookseller and sold the book on eBay as G.P. Taylor's book to Philip Pullman for hundreds of pounds. Needless to say, he's very careful about doing signings these days.)

However, the reason he chose to do the special Mariah Mundi Limited Editions was so a donation could be made to the Rotunda Museum in Scarborough. The Rotunda is currently being restored, and one of the most influential people in Britain, Lord Derwent, is behind it. Even Prince Charles visited the museum last week and is incredibly impressed with the work done.

Also, recently, there has been major collector interest in Taylor's Tizzle Sisters and Eric. This book was published by Markosia Enterprises, and the cover was created by Harry Potter cover artist Cliff Wright. There are exclusive Limited Edition Embossed copies commanding prices up to £300, not to mention exclusive Doodled Limited Edition copies fetching over £350 and proofs over £500 each. This is definitely one to watch; there is a major buzz surrounding this book in the UK press.

Currently, G.P. Taylor is on tour in the UK until late 2007. He has a passion for teaching children to read. His school visits are famous for being absolutely hilarious, and he's booked for months in advance, so I was truly honoured to meet the author in person and interview him.

So - news is spreading fast about Mariah Mundi. It's worth its weight in gold - even without the Midas Box!
