Update Announcements, #124, 7 July 2008

As promised, Reesa Turner is back this week with a primer on getting started at eCrater. Also, I think perhaps some clarification is in order. Reesa and I conceived her column on so-called alternate venues as a kind of scouting report, not as a platform to recommend one or another venue. At present she is "scouting" eCrater because there has been at least something of a buzz there recently. Whether or not eCrater will become a viable venue for booksellers remains to be seen. If you're feeling adventurous and decide to give a shot, we would greatly appreciate feedback on your experiences there as well.

I mentioned last week that the deadline for purchasing our back issues package (all Gold Edition and 50/50 back issues) for the sale price of $99.99 was today, July 6. However, it will be easier for us (administratively) to extend this to noon, Monday, July 7. So - there's still time. And recall that, if you've purchased back issues in the past and are interested in acquiring the issues you don't have, we'll credit all previous purchases toward the back issues package at the present sales price. Simply email me at editor@bookthink.com. and we'll go from there.
